Acceptance Plus

There has always been a problem with people accepting others who have special needs. For years many of them were shut away in institutions or kept at home. But here's a story that shows how one person with Down's Syndrome was more than accepted. I hope you find it inspiring.

Bionic Hand

Speaking of contraptions that help people with special needs, here's an amazing one: http://www.touchbionics.com/
The bionic hand, for people who have had theirs amputated, can do just about anything a flesh and blood hand can do except have a sense of touch. Captain Hook would have been amazed! Even conventional prosthetic limbs are far better than peg legs.
And scientists are working on other contraptions to replace body parts. Let's see, we now have pacemakers, cochlear implants, joint replacements, speech prosthesis devices, JAWS, SARA, RUBY, artificial limbs, and lots of others. What an amazing world we live in!
